Matr Pranaam and Salutations to the great leaders who have led our country men towards freedom and continue to guide and inspire us even to this day through their invaluable teachings. On the eve of Independence Day, I am honoured to present this brief report on how Sri Vidyaranya International School, that took its form from a noble thought of creating a new young India with rich moral, ethical and cultural values has manifested into a reality in less than 6 months of time. Today, with 150 plus students across L.K.G to Gr.7, its bustling vibes and vibrance are seen and felt not just in the school premises but also in the homes of our students. When COVID times threw challenges, we took them as opportunities to bring in a paradigm shift in the way we reach out, connect and impart education to our students. As promised, alongside academics we have introduced all other aspects of holistic education such as Yoga, Art, Dance, and Sadacharam, and to our delight our students have responded in a very positive manner. It’s their enthusiasm, and the cooperation of parents that has made the take-off very smooth and we now are steadily progressing and looking forward to attain the best outcomes possible in these times. We are currently conducting the formative assessments, and in two months’ time from now we will formally culminate the first term with summative assessments followed by a comprehensive feedback. Where there is a will, there is a Way.
Covid times have taught us to rise above all odds, through team work, understanding and determination. Dear parents, this success is attributed to you all for your constant support and to my team of teachers, who have left no tool and technique to make online learning effective, and enjoyable for our students.
On the eve of this Independence Day, we realise that freedom is not just about emancipation from bondage. It’s also about breaking free from fear, self-doubt, restriction and old practices that hamper creativity and advancement. This year for all the stake holders of education, freedom comes in the form of our New Education Policy which guarantees 15 years of rightful and compulsory education for all children, and envisions a totally transformed schooling and higher education system by 2030.The much awaited and appreciated moves such as low stakes board exams, introduction of internships and vocational education as a part of curriculum from Gr.6 upwards, increased flexibility and scope for a seamless blend of subjects in Gr.11 across Arts , Humanities ,and Science streams ,and the inclusion of Pre-primary into the formal education model of 5+3+3+4 are sure to make the vision of Self Reliant and Empowered India a reality very soon. All these changes came right on time for us and they are all complimentary to our vision of imparting education with Global Competence and Ancient Wisdom.
I would like to thank Sri Sudhakar ji for giving us the direction and motivation, Sri Mallayya garu for his guidance and advice, Smt. Sreedevi garu for her academic inputs, valuable suggestions and counselling, and Rangachary garu for his involvement and helping hand. May Sri Vidyaranya International School grow from strength to strength and stand out as an exemplar for the new generation schools of India.
Jai Hind!!
